✨ Update 07/Sept: The Photoshop Nano Banana and Flux Kontext script, originally created by Rob de Winter, is now part of Astria. Alon Burg and his team will continue development and are working on a powerful new plugin that will on the Astria platform and should launch within this week. In the meantime, you can keep using this version as usual, and once the new plugin is ready you will be able to switch over seamlessly. Exciting things ahead! ✨
This script makes photo editing and compositing in Photoshop feel even more intuitive. Use the tools you already know such as selections, brushes and colors, and then let Nano Banana (Gemini 2.5 Flash) or Flux Kontext bring your ideas to life. With simple, user friendly prompts you can create edits that look natural and are super fun to explore.
- Nano Banana (Gemini 2.5 Flash): fast generation with extras like Use Foreground Color and Reference Image (now available on both Windows and macOS 🎉).
- Flux Kontext (Pro & Max): context-aware edits, typography, lighting.
Your selection is sent to Replicate’s models and the result is placed back as a new layer, keeping lighting, shadows, and materials consistent. You can find the manual and a video with some examples below. Because the AI models run on Replicate, you'll need to create a free account there and add a minimum of $10 credit to access the AI models. With $10 you can generate about 250 images.

Tips
- Keep prompts short and specific. Mention material, color, lighting. Prompts in Flux Kontext need to be more specific than Nano Banana.
- Make selections slightly larger or softer to give the models more context.
- Try both Flux Kontext Pro and Max: Pro is great for most cases, Max can be stronger on typography. My preferred method is Nano Banana nowadays, except for changing the environmental lighting, and blending objects.
- Try drawing a sketch, and then let Nano Banana make something out of it. I had very impressive results.
- Use Upscale if the generated area feels too small or soft.
Troubleshooting
- Error "Network request failed" - Your Windows firewall or Antivirus is blocking the request. Adjust your firewall/Antivirus to allow the requests to Astria API.
- CCX not associated with Creative install / Cannot install plugin - Try enabling "Developer mode" in the setting, Unzip the CCX file, and copy it to C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\UXP\Plugins\External\NanoBanana\
- Error when trying to install CCX plugin: "The document "...ccx" could not be opened. Creative Cloud cannot open files of this type" - on MacOS try opening the Terminal app - and run
./UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent --install ~/Downloads/ee0f4287_PS.ccx - For any further issues - please contact plugins@astria.ai
